Sports)" />Priest Holmes</strong>, a RB who both Mike and I at <strong>Naptown&#8217;s Finest</strong> admire and respect (and fear when he takes the field against the Colts) is set to <a target="_blank" href="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3122112"><strong>announce his retirement</strong> </a>today.</p>
<p>Holmes is coming off a dismal season, one that started in Week 7 against the Oakland Raiders and then three tough games against the <strong>Broncos</strong>, <strong>Packers</strong> and <strong>Colts</strong> &#8211; three games the <strong>Chiefs</strong> lost. So far, he&#8217;s caught only 5 passes for 17 yards and rushed for 137 yards in four games. He has no TDs on the season. And it looks like the reaggrivation of his neck injury during the <strong>Colts</strong> game this past Sunday might have been enough to push the decision to retire, though that isn&#8217;t the official reason.</p>
<p>Regardless of this year&#8217;s injury-mired season, <strong>Holmes</strong> worked a <em>10-year career</em> that most RBs aspire. This <strong>Texas &#8217;97</strong> graduate was drafted by the <strong>Baltimore Ravens</strong> as a return man, and worked his way up to backup RB. Then in 2001, he found a new home in K.C. and took the role of one of the most feared running back in the league:</p>
