]]> Dwight Freeney celebrated being named to his seventh Pro Bowl … by resting.   The rest of the Colts’ practice report, as they prepare to wrap up the season in Jacksonville, reads as follows:

  • A.J. Edds did not practice due  to a bum ankle.
  • Anthony Gonzalez did not practice thanks to an undisclosed illness.
  • Dan Orlovsky took a personal day.
  • Joe Reitz didn’t practice due to an ankle injury.
  • Philip Wheeler rested his foot, along with the rest of his body.
  • Dallas Clark practiced in full, despite nursing a neck burner.

]]> The Colts apparently won’t give us any updates on the various injuries they’re nursing until next week sometime.   Among the more recently infirm are guard Joe Reitz and LB A.J. Edds, both of whom busted their ankles against the Texans.   Dallas Clark and Philip Wheeler both sat out the Houston affair with their own injuries, and the team is mum on their status, as well.

Could it be that the Colts have decided to put the brakes on this winning streak that could become deleterious if it reaches another game?  Will we see all of the remaining starters come out of Christmas weekend with some sort of “injuries” and miss the Jacksonville game?    Hard to say for sure, but I doubt it.   I think the Colts will be all in, right or wrong, for the the tilt against the Jaguars, and there is a good chance the `Shoes will kick away that first pick in the 2012 draft.

Bah humbug.

]]> On the day after Kerry Collins’ career effectively came to an end, the Colts got back to preparations for this week’s tilt with the Tennessee Titans.   Maybe Collins will show up for the game in his hometown … but which side would he root for?   Wednesday’s notes:

  • Bill Polian told Peter King that Peyton Manning could possibly, maybe, perhaps still make it back this year.   So, he’s saying there’s a chance!
  • Not practicing Wednesday were LB Pat Angerer (knee), LB Kavell Conner (knee), OL Ryan Diem (ankle), OT Anthony Castonzo (ankle), RB Joseph Addai (hamstring), TE Brody Eldridge (knee), P Pat McAfee (hamstring), DT Drake Nevis (back), G Mike Pollak (hamstring), and DE Dwight Freeney (Practice!?  We talking about practice?).
  • Limited in practice wee LB A.J. Edds (concussion, WR Anthony Gonzalez (groin), and TE Jacob Tamme (concussion).
  • Because of the injuries to Pollak and fellow OG Joe Reitz, backups Seth Olsen and Mike Tepper will probably start against the Titans.
