According to ESPN’s Paul Kuharsky, Philadelphia Eagles director of player personnel Ryan Grigson has completed a second interview with Colts owner Jim Irsay for the open GM position. Kuharsky provides a fairly complete biographical sketch of Grigson, but here are some of the salient points:

He’s an Indiana boy (he’s 40) with Purdue ties.

He spent some time on NFL rosters in the mid-1990s and played a bit in the CFL.

He has a strong scouting background.

His NFL teams have made the playoffs in seven of his 12 seasons.

Will Grigson be the next boss in Indy? Nah, that’s Jim Irsay.

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay apparently will leave no rock unmolested in his attempts to find the next GM who fits into his vision of the perfect executive … Bill Polian. The candidates are lining up, all the way out the doors on West 56th Street and onto I-465. Before they become a real traffic hazard, we dedicated Colts fans should do our civic duty and figure out who is the best fit. What do you think? Tell us below.

The Indianapolis Colts are wasting little time in lining up potential candidates to replace Bill and Chris Polian, even if owner Jim Irsay was denied the right to speak to one of his top choices, Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel Eric DeCosta. The guys that Irsay is expected to interview include Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel Les Snead, Philadelphia Eagles director of player personnel Ryan Grigson, Falcons director of college scouting David Caldwell (I spit you not), and Dallas Cowboys assistant director of player personnel Tom Ciskowski. No word on how the `Boys broke into the bird club that Irsay appears to be recruiting, but can the Arizona Cardinals stay out of this mix for long?
