On March 7, 2012, the Indianapolis Colts officially cut ties with living legend and future Hall of Famer, quarterback Peyton Manning. Manning’s release came after a long year of neck surgeries, speculation, losing, speculation, front office firings, and more speculation. The extent of the Colts’ rebuilding effort became even more apparent when many big-name players were released just a couple of days after Manning was shown the door.

It is clear that the Indianapolis Colts have are on the cusp of a major rebuilding project, the likes of which the NFL may have never seen before. The team has a new general manager (Ryan Grigson) and a new head coach (Chuck Pagano) in place, and are just biding their time until the 2012 NFL Draft.

When that fateful day in late April arrives, the Colts will latch onto the guy that we all hope harbingers a quick return to prominence for this franchise that has delivered an unprecedented run of success over the last 14 years. If Andrew Luck delivers on his early promise, we might be in the midst of some Lucky Colts before you know it!
