We’ve all seen pictures and video of the devastation brought on by the tornado damage in Oklahoma from last week. In times such as these, it seems that there is little we can do. Still, every little bit helps, and the Indianapolis Colts are trying to do as much as they can for the families affected.

The Colts have offered to match any donations from their fans to the Red Cross for Oklahoma tornado relief, up to $25,000. Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay himself has already donated $1 million to the cause. Acts of charity such as this show concern and consideration for our fellow countrymen and women, who are in need of recovery and assistance. Sometimes life takes turns that we cannot control, and when it does, it tends to bring out compassion in others around the world.

Donation can be made to the Red Cross: http://american.redcross.org/colts-pub

On Thursday, in the midst of Organized Team Activities, the Indianapolis Colts made some changes at the linebacker position. The Colts decided to bring in free agent linebacker Caesar Rayford, while waiving linebacker Jake Killeen.

Rayford comes to the Colts after spending the past three years in the Arena Football League, as a member of the Utah Blaze. Prior to joining the blaze, Rayford spent time in the Canadian Football League. In three seasons with Utah, Rayford seemed to play all over the field on the defensive side of the ball. Rayford totaled 68 tackles and 22.5 sacks, while adding seven forced fumbles and seven fumble recoveries. On special teams, the linebacker also blocked six kicks.

Killeen was brought to the Colts in January of this year with a reserve/future contract, after spending three years playing with the Indoor Football League.

The 2013 offseason brings new things for Andrew Luck.

This week, Luck took part in his first career Organized Team Activities for the Indianapolis Colts. Luck wasn’t around for OTAs last season, as he had returned to Stanford to finish up his college degree. Being part of these OTAs is new territory for the second-year quarterback, as it gives him an early look at his team’s new offensive schemes, while showing him the additions made on defensive this offseason.

“It’s great to get out on the field with the defense and troubleshoot some stuff,” Luck said. Just to be on the field with the guys, going against something other than air.”

These OTAs are a new adventure for most of the Colts players and coaching staff. The Indianapolis offense not only has their quarterback in these practices for the first time, but they also have a new offense to learn. The coaches get their first full offseason to adapt and adjust with their quarterback and his weapons. Every little bit counts, and every mistake corrected in practice will help avoid a possible mistake down the road.
