It has already been an interesting offseason for the Indianapolis Colts. Even though the 2014 NFL Draft is still weeks away, the team is beginning to regroup and ready themselves for what may come their way this season. Small steps in April can lead to big leaps in December.

This week, the Colts opened up their practice facility to officially begin phase one of their voluntary offseason program. This week sparks the start of what Indianapolis hopes to be a Super Bowl-caliber season. As the coaches prep for the upcoming draft and season, players shake off the rust, in order to begin prepping themselves physically.

This Monday was the first time since the end of last season that Indianapolis players were able to workout in the Colts’ facility. One of the first faces in the building was QB – Andrew Luck. New addition to the Colts, WR – Hakeem Nicks, also reported to the voluntary offseason program.

With much of the media focus recently being on the Colts’ owner, (rather than the team) it’s nice to be able to talk about simple things. Just having some veterans and new faces back in the gym, is reminiscent of the fact that the game is coming back. What the Colts need to do, is focus themselves on the diligence in 2014, rather than off-the-field details.
