Indianapolis Colts Face Another Possible NFL Playoffs Preview

: John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

This Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts travel to face the Kansas City Chiefs, for a game that could be a preview of the 2013 NFL Playoffs. Both teams are prepped for playoff contention in the AFC, but the seeding is yet to be determined. Still, if the chips fall a certain way, these two teams could meet again in the AFC Wildcard round.

The Chiefs are dangerous at home, and the Colts have been hot and cold on the road this season. Indianapolis hasn’t had much experience in cold weather road games, in recent years. The Colts did defeat the Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium last season, but the Chiefs are a much more formidable team this year. QB – Alex Smith has rejuvenated his career in Kansas City, under new head coach, Andy Reid. RB - Jamaal Charles has a league-high 18 touchdowns, including 5 scores last week. Charles became the fifth player in the past 50 seasons to have at least 200 yards from scrimmage and score five touchdowns. His 195 receiving yards were the most for a running back since 1999, and his 176 yards after the catch were the most in a game since 2006. The Kansas City defense has shown its own dominance, as well. Last week, the Chiefs scored once, and caused seven total turnovers.

If these two teams meet again, it will be at Lucas Oil Stadium. The question for Sunday’s game, is whether or not the Colts and Chiefs show all of their cards. Do these possible postseason opponents put it all on the line, knowing that the other team may have extra video to study for their future meeting? Either way, there is a lot on the line for both teams this Sunday, at Kansas City.
