Kansas City, MO - The Indianapolis Colts are heading into Kansas City to face a very dangerous Chiefs football team. Indianapolis has had a few very big wins throughout the course of the regular season, but they have also had some bad losses as well. There are quite a few analysts and fans that don’t believe the Colts are a legitimate Super Bowl contender because of their inconsistent play.
The Colts are coming off of a big 25-3 win over the Houston Texans last week, and they have a renewed confidence that they can compete with the best. They are going to get the chance to prove themselves this Sunday in Arrowhead against a Chiefs team that has compiled an 11-3 record to start the year.
Andrew Luck will be asked to step up against a very talented Chiefs’ defense and will have a chance to prove his own critics wrong as well. Luck hasn’t had the best season since starting hot and has seen quite a few people begin to question whether or not he will be the superstar quarterback that he was drafted to be. Despite the struggles, Luck has been very cool and collected and has been able to put together good performances week after week. He has had some turnover issues in recent weeks, but it is very difficult for a quarterback to take care of the football when he’s getting hit within three seconds of taking the snap.
Indianapolis has had their rushing attack called into question almost every single week this season. Trent Richardson had a much better game last week against the Texans, but he will need to come up with another good game against a very stout Kansas City run defense. Donald Brown will likely play which will be good as well.
Overall, this is a chance for the Colts to show that they are indeed the contenders that beat the 49ers, Seahawks, and Broncos early on in the season. The Colts have won some big games at home and did beat the 49ers on the road, but a huge road win over one of their main competitors in the AFC would be a big step for them.
