Indianapolis, IN - The Indianapolis Colts have been struggling with wide receiver help since star receiver Reggie Wayne went down with a torn ACL earlier on this season. T.Y. Hilton has stepped up for the Colts since Wayne went down, but he has been inconsistent for the entire season. Both Da’Rick Rogers and LaVon Brazill stepped up last week against the Bengals and have given the Colts hope with what is already on their roster.
Indianapolis still believes that they could use some help at wide receiver, so they brought in former Patriots receiver Deion Branch. Branch played with the Patriots in 2012, catching 16 passes for 145 yards. At the age of 34, there isn’t too much football left in the veteran, but he could add some help and a solid veteran presence as well.
There is no deal imminent between the two sides, but it certainly is an option for the Colts should they choose to go that route. Branch likely wouldn’t see too much time on the field if he does sign with the Colts, but he would at least be a veteran #5 option that has been in big games and has experience that he could share with the young players.
