Indianapolis Colts Make Additions

The Indianapolis Colts have made two additions to their 53-man roster. Following the release of FB-Robert Hughes and RB-Kerwynn Williams, the Colts have brought in one offensive player, as well as one player on defense.

Indianapolis has signed RB-Daniel “Boom” Herron from the practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals. Herron was signed in the 6th round (191st overall) by the Bengals, in the 2012 NFL Draft. Herron (5ft 10in, 210lbs) is a big-bodied backup, as opposed to the smaller-sized Williams. Herron only appeared in three games with the Bengals, recording one blocked punt 4 special teams tackles, and four rushes for five yards. At Ohio State University, Herron was much more productive, totaling 2,869 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns, as well as 309 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The Colts have also signed free agent OLB-Andy Studebaker. Studebaker, a six-year veteran, has appeared in 70 career games, all as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Studebaker (6ft 3in, 248lbs) was a sixth round selection (203rd overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2012 NFL Draft, but was sent to their practice squad. Studebaker was signed to the Chiefs in November of that year, and he totaled 83 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions, and one forced fumble for that team.
