Over the past couple of years, the rest of the world has been starting to realize what the people of Indianapolis had already known. Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts, is a sprawling, dynamic juggernaut of s ports venue. There may be no better place to attend a sporting event then downtown Indianapolis, and some people are starting to spread the word.
Stadium Journey Magazine is a periodical and website that is based around reviewing sporting arenas all across the country. From pro to college sports, the writers at Stadium Journey have spent extensive time travelling to literally every sporting venue in America and Europe. They look at everything from seating to comfort, from fans to the surrounding neighborhood.
For the second year in a row, Lucas Oil Stadium was named as the top stadium experience in sports. The 62, 421-seat stadium opened in 2008, and has hosted everything from high school state football championships, to last years’ Super Bowl. Lucas Oil was rated with a 4.9 out of a possible 5 ranking. This honor is just as much an indication of the impressive stadium, as it is the overall experience of attending a sporting event in Indianapolis. The city is already in talks to make another bid for the Super Bowl in 2018.
