Indianapolis Colts Name New Offensive Line Coach

Coaching additions continue for the Indianapolis Colts. Indianapolis wasted no time in filling the spots left open on their staff, after the loss of former offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, and former offensive line coach Harold Goodwin. After bringing in Pep Hamilton to replace Arians, the Colts have now named a replacement for Goodwin, as well.

The Colts have filled their open spot for an offensive line coach by promoting from within. Joe Gilbert has been named the new coach of the offensive line in Indianapolis. Gilbert was an assistant coach to Goodwin on the offensive line staff for the Colts last season. Prior to working with the Colts, Gilbert worked for over 25 years as an offensive coach and a scout at the collegiate level.

A new scheme on the offensive line could end up being a breath of fresh air for the Colts. The offensive line was one of the biggest holes (excuse the pun) for this young team last season. The line dealt with injuries all season long, forcing the coaches to put in a patchwork crew to try and protect their rookie quarterback. The unit was beat up, beleaguered, and shuffled from the start of the year, which made it hard for the line to mesh. Hopefully Gilbert can help this unit solidify and prosper for the near future.

So it should be .. Some come, some go. Gilbert is an experienced coach and I think that he will give a big contribution in the future. Success guys.
