2012 NFL Mock Draft: Luck to Colts, then Griffin Scramble

Indianapolis has been swallowed by the Super Bowl Experience, but most of the talk around town still centers around all the moves the Horseshoes have made this off-season.  Next up, the Peyton Mannning-or-Andrew Luck decision.  Here is how I see the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft playing out, as of January 30.    Also, check out DC Pro Sports Report Mock Draft Database, the web’s biggest and best compendium of mock drafts.

1. Indianapolis Colts
Andrew Luck
QB, Stanford

With every trigger that owner Jim Irsay pulls, Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis career becomes more precarious.  Hard to see anyone but Luck landing in this first spot.

2. St. Louis Rams
Matt Kalil
OT, USC

The Rams continued to make noise about Robert Griffin III, but they are almost surely blowing smoke.  Could a trade be in the works?

3. Minnesota Vikings
Justin Blackmon
WR, Oklahoma State

4. Cleveland Browns
Robert Griffin III
QB, Baylor

The Browns are reportedly feeling a little unsure about Griffin, but he’d probably be too enticing to pass up.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Morris Claiborne
CB, LSU

6. Washington Redskins

Riley Reiff
OT, Iowa

Unless they trade up, the Redskins may have to improve their anemic offense by focusing on a position other than QB.  Their line is pretty bad, too, so Reiff would make some sense.

8. Carolina Panthers
