Enough is Enough

Like fans and bloggers everywhere I could easily go on another rant about what I think about the call Jim Caldwell (and Bill Polian) made last week in refusing to even attempt legendary status by pulling the starters during the third quarter against the Jets (okay, so that was a veiled dig, but I promise I am done). I think the fans have been doing a great job of letting their opinions be known to the point where accusations were made that Polian cut his show short in order to escape the wrath. Before I can move on alltogether I [...]

Shame on the Colts

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

I have to admit, if I had gone to the Colts game on Sunday I would have left pretty angry and not because the team lost. Like many people in this economy I have had a hard time coming by solid employment opportunities these days. What money I do earn has to go to bills. Thank God the NFL has yet to start charging to watch regular season games on TV- oh, wait, they have. But I would not have been suprised if my wife would have bought me tickets knowing how much I would enjoy the game. The cheapest seats in the [...]

Bad Call Caldwell

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

All season long I have been pleased with the decisions that new head coach Jim Caldwell has been making. He has done a great job of managing his personnel all season especially as they began to get hit by injuries. Heck- can you really be displeased with anything a guy does when the team is 14-0? Well when you lose, regardless of how often you have won, the Boo Birds tend to come out. Negativity is easy and really kind if dull; not my preferred mood when I write. However, in this case I fear it is necessary. Playing the [...]

To Play or Not to Play…

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

That is the question these days among the Colt faithful television analysts alike. On one hand there is the pursuit of perfection, a feat that only two other teams hae ever accomplished during the regualr season, the 2007 Patriots and the more legendary 1972 Dolphins. For those that are not up on their NFL history, the Dolphins have been the only team to maintain an undefeated record throught the post season as well. So while the Patriots did have a perfect regular season, the Dolphins are the only team to ever have a perfect season. That is what is on [...]

And then there was one…

The Indianapolis Colts have been made a little more unique thanks to the Dallas Cowboys. In a game that no one saw coming, the mighty Saints were felled by the Cowboys from Dallas in a 24-17 shocker Saturday night. With the conclusion of the game the Colts became the only undefeated team in the league. The question remains as to whether they will remain that way or if they will even try. It was surprising to see the Colts play their starters for the duration of the game on Thursday against the Jaguars. However, it made sense when listening to [...]

Imperfectly Perfect are the Colts

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

For much of the night Thursday it appeared as if the Colts might be handed their first defeat of the season by their hated division rival, the Jaguars from Jacksonville. Jacksonville needed a win to remain in control of their playoff destiny. A win for the Colts for all intents and purposes meant the same as a loss. When it came down to it though, the Colts were not to be denied. This time it was not the late heroics of Peyton Manning and the offense, but a timely interception by rookie cornerback Jacob Lacey that sealed the win. It [...]

Colts Best Broncos and Everyone Else By Putting Team First!

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Brandon Marshall proved why he is one of the top wide outs in the league Sunday against the Colts. He and quarterback Kyle Orton pretty much played pitch and catch as the young receiver pulled in a record breaking 21 pass receptions and 200 of Orton’s 277 passing yards. While this individual accomplishment is worthy of a little attention so are the records which the Colts broke. And oh yeah- they won. Indianapolis’s shot at perfection lives on for another week with a pretty commanding win over the Denver Broncos Sunday, 28-16. What us making these wins a thing of [...]

Superior to the Patriots in More Ways Than One

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

To the casual eye it would be easy to prove that the Colts are better than the Patriots- just look at the records: Colts 12-0, Patriots 7-5. To really drive the point home it becomes necessary to dig a little deeper. So far Peyton Manning and crew have scored three more points (331) than Tom Brady’s bunch (328). Mr. Freeney and his associates have only allowed 201 points while the Patriot bunch has allowed 224. Peyton has thrown for 47 more yards than Tom, but then Tom has Peyton beat on illegitimate children. When you look at the individual stat [...]

And One Will Streak No More!

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

Coming into Sunday Vince Young had won his last nine starts. The Titans were in the process of making an amazing turn around to compete for the playoffs with a 5 game winning streak on the line that followed the season opening 6 game losing streak. The Colts were looking to win their twelfth game of the season and a record tying 21 regular seasons in a row. Peyton Manning needed one more touchdown to keep his streak of consecutive seasons with at least 25 touchdowns alive (which he got putting the streak at a record breaking 12 seasons). The [...]

Will the Streak Stay Alive?

AUTHOR: | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Ask anyone on October 12 what they thought of the next time the Colts would play the Titans and they would probably have scoffed at the notion: “Ha! They didn’t play last night when we trounced those amateurs 31-9, and in their backyard! Next time, after they have gotten their sorry behinds kicked a few more times, at our house- laughable, completely, totally, and absolutely laughable. That’s what that game will be.” But darn it if the craziest things don’t tend to happen in the NFL. After a disastrous and embarrassing 0-6 start the Titans have rebounded behind the solid [...]
