Too Much Too Soon for the Colts?

AUTHOR: Travis Pulver | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Indianapolis Colts needed to lose against the Houston Texans.
By making yet another impressive comeback in the fourth quarter to beat the Texans 35-27 on Sunday the Colts have won the AFC South for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. With home field advantage throughout the playoffs only a couple of wins away the team will have nothing to play for.
That is where the trouble can start. So far Jim Caldwell has yet to have to make the tough decisions of whether or not to play his superstars, but come week 16 and 17 he probably will. He [...]

Will the Colts go Undefeated?

AUTHOR: Travis Pulver | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

For years you would always here about the 1972 Miami Dolphins popping the cork on the champagne whenever the final undefeated team would fall. Now that the Patriots have gone undefeated during the regular season (only to fall in the game that really counts, the Super Bowl) that talk has pretty much died away.
The Patriots have proven that the before thought unattainable is no longer a goal that is out of reach. This season the Colts are still one of two undefeated teams still looking to make that mark. There road is not going to be a simple one though.
This [...]

Everyone Loves a Winner Whether you Want to or Not

AUTHOR: Travis Pulver | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

Ten year ago when I moved to Indianapolis I could have cared less about the Colts. As far as I was concerned, the Colts were only a blip on the radar due to their infamous departure from Baltimore years earlier.
So naturally I resisted becoming a Colt fan. I openly cheered for whoever they were playing just to see them lose. I talked bad about them; I questioned every decision made. I made it obvious to anyone and everyone whether they cared or not that I was not a follower of the Indianapolis Colts.
Regardless of my feelings on the Colts or any other [...]

State of the Colts: Mid-Season Edition

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: Mid-Season Report | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well ladies and gentlemen, we just finished week eight in the NFL, so we’re at the midway point of the season. And though the Colts have only played seven games, we will still consider this the halfway point of the year.
With that being said, here is the “State of the Colts,” mid-season edition!
The Record
While I’ve always had complete faith in this team, I didn’t think they’d be undefeated at this point. I mean c’mon, they replace was one of the best coaches of all-time in Tony Dungy, they’re still 7-0? That speaks volumes to this entire organization. They kept the [...]

Cheating in the NFL: An Examination

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: Rants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Uh-oh. Do we have ourselves another cheating controversy in the NFL? That’s right folks, our good friends over at Stampede Blue are asking about potential cheating scenarios that took place yesterday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Go back to the fourth quarter. Remember when Parys Haralson had a cramp? And remember when Takeo Spikes had a cramp? Both injuries took place in critical situations during Colts’ drives. Well what if they weren’t in fact injured at all? Niners Insider Kevin Lynch didn’t seem to think they were. The Colts’ radio announcers didn’t seem to think they were. Fans in attendance at the [...]

Yes, the NFL Does Allow Ugly Wins

AUTHOR: Blake Lovell | IN: Game Recap | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Whew. That’s about all you can say after the Colts defeated the San Francisco 49ers 18-14 today.
I’m glad that one is over, and that’s one I won’t be going back to watch on the TiVo later tonight. So sorry Colts’ fans, I won’t be breaking down the tape Ron Jaworski-style this week.
But again, we’ve gotta remember that it was indeed a win. There are no such thing as style points in the NFL, which was certainly good on this day for the Colts.
It wasn’t a Manning-like today for Peyton Manning, even if he did throw for 347 yards. [...]

Game day has arrived Indy fans, as the Colts will try to extend the undefeated streak,as they play at home against the 49ers.
