It’s almost June, literally, as in just a few hours it will be June 1st.Â
This really has so importance what-so-ever, only that we are another month closer to football starting again – and I say Hallelujah to that brother! I love baseball, I mean I love it, but nothing compares to the excitement of the NFL and following your favorite team from week to week. But unfortunately with it only being June, baseball is going full steam and there is not much football news.  There’s some, but beyond the coaching debacle, not much is happenning Colts related.Â
So since there’s no major story to cover and it’s been [...]

A Bunch of Quick Thoughts
Peyton Upset = No Big Deal
The past few weeks have seen a plethora of changes for the Indianapolis Colts coaching staff. At this point all the changes are about as clear a as college level trig class taught in Portugese.
And there’s one person who’s had enough – and that person is Peyton Manning.
The usually quiet quarterback went public today with his unhappiness surrounding the Colts coaching staff and all it’s uncertainty. Many of the comments seem to be simply out of frustration, but a few also carry that slight tinge of “I’m actually pretty pissed off cause I don’t know what the crap is going on here.”
Manning, who [...]
I Believe in Second Chances
We all make mistakes.
Making mistakes is a part of life and it’s something that most people learn to deal with and have the maturity to accept.  It’s just as the sayings go – “no one is perfect” and “we all screw up.” Heck I’ve probably goofed today more times than I can count. The problem, however, with mistakes evolves when we try to give weight to our goof ups and say that some mistakes are more important than others.Â
Sure, some mistakes are certainly bigger than others and can have larger consequences, can cause severe pain and heartache, and even lead to harsh punishment. But in the end, [...]
The past week or two there has been some conversation re-emerge about Marvin Harrison. First SI writer Peter King said Harrison was done, citing Harrison’s age and bum knee. Then King was rebuffed when it was reported that Marvin wants to play in the 2009 NFL season. So if we believe the idea that Marvin is not going to retire and he does indeed want to play, that only leads to one question – where???
A couple friends have asked me the same question recently and my fiance and i talked about it the other night as well. The people want to know! So, assuming Marv does not retire, here are my top [...]
After many rumors, long time Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Tom Moore and offensive line coach Howard Mudd have officially retired. In short, the retirements were a result of changes to the NFL’s pension plan.
Moore and Mudd each had over 30 years coaching experience and both had long tenures with Indianapolis. Both contributed greatly to the teams success over the last 10 years and were key components to the teams winning formula.
Moore was a master of working hand in hand with Peyton Manning to run the offense and Mudd was the genius behind keeping Manning one [...]
Playoffs ?? The Playoffs !?!?
Here is a public service announcement for all of you NFL fans out there:Â IT’S MAY 13th !!!!!!!!
May, as in the month after April, the fifth month of the year and nearly four full months before the 2009 NFL season kicks off. But apparently, some people don’t know that, or they simply just don’t have anything better to do in May than write about things that carry no merit at all this time of year.
Ok, ok … so I’m on a rant primarily because a writer over at CBS, Don Banks, believes that the Colts won’t make the playoffs this year. [...]
The First Post
Â
Ok, now that the introduction is out of the way, we can get to the good stuff. And anyone with a football pulse knows there’s lot of good stuff for this year’s Indianapolis Colts. Hopefully, in time, we’ll cover it all (and then some) here at Naptown’s Finest.
My main goals here at the site are to do a couple things. They primarily are: to provide thoughtful, well written posts from a fan’s perspective, to dig into the stats and produce legitmate praises and complaints, to promote Colts football without outright bashing of Colts players or players of any team, and to [...]
An Introduction
Well Hello there! Let me take a minute to introduce myself, my name is Nick Pease and i’m the new lead blogger for Naptown’s Finest. Just to get it all over with and out of the way, let me tell you a little bit about me.
I’m 25, i was born in Muncie, Indiana and i’ve lived my entire life in the Hoosier state. I’m a HUGE Colts fan – i have been watching them since i was a child and have been a fan since the days of Marshall Faulk and Jim Harbaugh. I consider myself a full-fledged Colts fanatic. I have been there for [...]
