Take a look at the AFC Playoffs picture below…See anything worth noting there? How about the fact that there are THREE TEAMS represented from the AFC South this year vying for a chance at the title. And, though highly unlikely, should the Colts go out before the Big Game, we should be rooting all three of our division opponents on to a victory. What a statement! Here’s a look at the AFC South’s season records…
AFC SOUTH
Indianapolis Colts, 13-3, Division Champion (No. 2 in AFC)
Jacksonville Jaguars, 11-5 (Wildcard 1 spot)
Tennessee Titans, Â 10-6 (Wildcard 2 spot)
Houston Texans, 8-8
And as for those 16-0 Patriots [...]

My thoughts:
The Titans visit Qualcomm and this should be an easy route for LT and Shawne Merriman. No contest, especially if VY’s knee is messed up after the Colts game last night. I’m calling the Chargers by at least 15 points. The Chargers then visit Indy. It was a Sunday night when the Chargers last met the Colts. They were completely healthy and the Colts were anything but, and had Vinatieri made that field [...]
Titans Won? Really?
You’re backup to the single greatest quarterback of the 21st century so far, feeding off him, learning his every move and thought, studying him studying the game…and you still play like crap? I just don’t get it! I have a feeling if Coach Dungy would have put Peyton in that situation with three minutes left in the Q4 that the Colts would have marched down the field, scored a TD and ran down the clock so far that “Geriatric” Collins in all his infinite wisdom and decades of experience couldn’t have done anything about it. The Colts would have won [...]

The end of the ‘08 regular season comes for the Colts tonight at home (8:15pm, Channel 13) against AFC South division foe, Tennessee Titans. The Colts already have their playoff picture painted at No. 2 in the AFC (but No. 1 in our minds, right?), home field advantage guaranteed for the first game, a first-round bye, and their 5th consecutive AFC South title. Not bad for coming out of easily the toughest division in the league. Chances are, though, the Colts are going to have the toughest road to the Super Bowl too. The Colts will probably be playing the Jaguars in [...]
Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
So the Patriots won 16 games…yada, yada, yada…nothing matters until the playoffs. Congratulations to them, but let’s see what their record would be like if they were actually in a competitive division where six games out of their season are against actual opponents and not NFL practice squads like Miami and New York. The second best team in the AFC East is Buffalo and they rank almost as good as the AFC South’s worst team: Houston Texans. You make your own conclusions.
As a matter of fact, what do you think? Do they deserve it? Do they deserve to be ranked [...]
It Will be a Sad Day
The Colts play there last regular season game ever in the RCA (Hoosier) Dome this sunday, and I never really thought about it, but it is kinda sad to think about it being gone. As a kid growing up in Indiana I have always enjoyed football much more than I ever did basketball, which pretty much made me an outcast here in the Hoosier state, but I didn’t care. The dome has been in Indiana all my life, and I can remember as a kid riding in my parents truck around I-465 and always seeing the dome in the distance, and just [...]
Merry Christmas!
Jeff Foster Says “Don’t Trip”
I’ve always said that Jeff Foster does all the little things that don’t show up in the box score, but this is ridiculous. Way to go, Jeff!
Jim’s In
In a press conference today, Coach Dungy made it official that although the season closer in the Hoosier Dome against AFC South opponent, the Titans, on Sunday, it is essentialldy meaningless in terms of the postseason. However, he did say it’s very important that Peyton and the rest of the starters see some game time, hopefully with Marvin Harrison in the lineup so he and Peyton can get some passes in and maybe get back on the same page as the other. Talk about hitting the postseason “ground” running, eh? It’d be great to see No. 88 back out there!
