Crossing Into Enemy Territory

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

Alright Colts fans…Yours truly has found himself in the land that Super Bowl’s Forgotten. It’s been a long time since Elway worked his magic, but Denver’s been a dangerous but hollow threat since The Great’s retirement in 1999. They’re a decent squad, a team that can have a Super Bowl-caliber game but lose any semblance of rhythm the following week, but they’re nobody to lose any sleep over.
The Colts are set to destroy them on September 30 at home in The Hoosier Dome.
Give a day or so and I should have infiltrated their Open Spaces (as they call them out here, a place where Coloradans try [...]

Peyton Always on Point

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

Peyton Manning is always on point in the game, commercials, and helping people. A recent quote of his shows how special of a person he is and how much he loves the city of New Orleans. I’m just glad we don’t have his brother.

On the second anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Manning gave an impromptu boost to the tourism industry in his hometown of New Orleans by calling on those who have not visited the city recently to return.
“People around the country need to know they can still use their help and support,” Manning told reporters. “Prayers and money are [...]

A Celebrity Might Finally Have It Right

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

As if the entire world hasn’t heard yet I’d like to offer a quick update - and a few thoughts - on the Michael Vick situation.
I feel like one of the few who will speak up about the “race” issue surrounding Vick’s dilemma. First of all, dogfighting is inhumane and sub-human no matter who does it. This simply has NOTHING to do with race, and however Vick is demonized by this case it has absolutely nothing to do with his skin color! Pitiful that we fought, basically, two wars to rid this country of the race issue (Civil War and the 1960’s) - [...]

Injury Update

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

Len Pasquarelli reports on the latest news on Dwight Freeney and Dallas Clark:
Three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney bruised his right thigh during a 37-10 win over Detroit on Saturday night and isn’t expected to play Friday at Cincinnati.
Coach Tony Dungy said the injury is not serious and Freeney would probably play if it were a regular-season game. Freeney went to the locker room before halftime and watched the second half from the sidelines in street clothes.
Dallas Clark, the Colts’ top tight end, was not listed on the injury report after having an ice pack on his thigh [...]

An Impressive Outing

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Colts were on top of their game on yesterday’s 3rd preseason match against the Detroit Lions. Granted, the Lions haven’t been quality since Barry Sanders, and even then their quality is in question, but the Colts shined in their 37-10 win.
The Colts’ offense did exceptionally well, but not just in terms of points scored. Sorgi was 16 of 23 for a solid 171 yards and lined up two touchdowns…not bad for a backup with almost zero game minutes in the NFL.
Also, though Moorehead caught the first three passes on the Colts’ opening drive, Roy Hall (R-OSU) caught a high pressure [...]

Okay Dede, Here’s Your Chance!

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

According to Coach Dungy, Addai may not see too many minutes this Saturday against the Detroit Lions in Preseason Game #3. The preseason is winding down and the coaches around the NFL are having to make some last-minute cuts to their teams, which is why the pressure is mounting against those No Names out there.
But as for the Colts, Dede Dorsey (there is to the right in camp, Peyton looking on) - a loyalist for a few years – is going to have to prove quite a bit before the season opener against the Saints on September 6. I’m pulling for this [...]

Let’s Stand Up For…

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

…the new site in the Fan-Sided blog network! The Bucs finally have some representation, which is more than they’ve had for that team for the past two years or so. I don’t know what’s going on down there in Tampa, but I do know that their fansite, The Pewter Plank, is a pretty impressive looking site. So, take a look!

That’s Right Rex!!!

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

So it’s just a couple of minutes into the game and Rex just fumbled the ball! What’s better? How about the rookie Booger fill-in Ed Johnson recovering it…There’s not much else we can do…We already took their Super Bowl from them!
GO COLTS!!!

Football, Tonight…Where You Gonna Be?

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Hopefully, you’re going to be in front of ESPN tonight at 8pm EST when the Colts play their second preseason game against those Bears.
Some key positions to look for tonight:
* the entire Colts Secondary;
* Sorgi, as always;
* Dede Dorsey at RB;
* the switching of Utecht as starting TE and Clark as possible blocking FB on some plays;
* Anthony Gonzalez at WR;
* and…that huge gap in the middle by the loss of Simon (did not re-sign) and Booger (injury).
So, enough about Vick for a while…Let’s get back to stuff that matters! Like football and our COLTS! WHOAAA!

Vick Is Just Sick

AUTHOR: Zach | IN: Colts | COMMENTS: None Yet

So, that’s pretty much a wrap…Vick’s days of making minced meat out of the league’s defenses and innocent dogs are over! And I can’t be happier. It has nothing to do with his athletic ability (which goes without saying that he’s truly an amazing football talent…possibly the progenitor of a new species of quarterback), but it has everything to do with his status as subhuman after he will admit to pitting dogs against each other to the death on his residential property.
In fact, the details are as follows: Vick will admit to gambling and illegal dogfighting. He will admit to participating in the execution [...]
